Waiting for the Fire

Brett is super stoked about “Walk Away” and thinks it’s one of his best songs. It’s all about having the courage to leave a crappy situation when you need to. The character in the song doesn’t do it though, he keeps going back to his boring life and daydreaming about leaving someday. But Brett wants us to remember that life is short and we should follow our dreams.

The song was inspired by Bedrich Smetana’s “Die Moldau” but played faster and with a few tweaks.

In 2000, there was a rad TV show in Ocean City, MD that showcased local skate and surf footage and played punk music videos. “Walk Away” was always featured in the show’s intro and commercials.
