Hey there! So, there’s this awesome new wave band with Brett and Jay Ziskrout. And guess what? Their girlfriends absolutely love their most requested song, “I wanna be with you”! It’s actually one of Brett’s earliest songs, how cool is that? They’ve played a few shows, including this super fun free lunch-time concert/talent show at El Camino High School. And you know what’s even cooler? That’s where Greg Graffin and Jay Bentley first heard them play! Talk about a lucky break, right?
Now, here’s the backstory: Brett and Jay Ziskrout had just broken up from The Quarks in late 1979 and they were itching to start a harder band, something more in The Ramones vein. That’s when Tom Clement, who happened to be a mutual friend of Greg Graffin and Brett, came into the picture. He introduced them and they formed a three-piece band, although they didn’t have a name yet. Can you believe it? The start of something amazing!
