Guess what? The Circle Jerks are a totally awesome punk band from Hermosa Beach, CA that was founded by Keith Morris and Greg Hetson in 1979. They’ve been on a break since 2010, but let’s hope they come back soon because they’re just that rad!
Oh, and get this, they actually helped out Bad Religion back in the day. Hetson took Bad Religion’s first demo tape to this super famous punk rock radio show called “Rodney on the Roq” and it got played on-air! And get this, Bad Religion even used the Circle Jerks’ tour van for a little West Coast and East Coast tour. How cool is that?
But wait, there’s more! The Circle Jerks and Bad Religion have played together twelve times. Can you imagine how epic those shows must have been?
And here’s a fun fact: while recording their album “Oddities, Abnormalities, and Curiosities,” the band was goofing off a lot. But Hetson was like, “Hey guys, we need to get this done because I have to go on Bad Religion duty the moment Greg Graffin snaps his fingers.” Talk about dedication!
So yeah, the Circle Jerks and Bad Religion have a pretty awesome history together. They appreciated each other’s music and there were no jerks or dicks in the group. Everyone was just cool. Rock on!
