Introducing the Red Rocker, Brett’s legendary guitar covered in stickers! This bad boy makes an appearance on every album. Let’s dive into the specs: Brett bought this single-pickup Charvel in 1989 while on tour in Boston, after his previous guitar got stolen. Talk about a lucky find! Over the years, he’s made some necessary changes to it. In 2013, he replaced the neck with an unfinished ESP maple neck and a maple fretboard with jumbo frets. To combat tuning issues, he upgraded the tuners to high-quality Schaller tuning machines. The tone knob circuitry is disconnected, giving a direct signal path from the pickup to the amp. Brett usually keeps the tone knobs wide open, so it made perfect sense for this one-pickup monster. He also added a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge position, just like his beloved Les Pauls. According to Brett, all these modifications ended up giving it a brighter Les Paul sound. How cool is that? And guess what? The Red Rocker is now a proud member of The Punk Rock Museum as of April 2023. Rock on!
