Guess what? The studio where Bad Religion recorded their first demo in January 1980 was located in the super cool Hollywood & Western Building, also known as The Mayer Building. This building is a four-story Art Deco office building situated at 5504 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. But wait, there’s more! Back in the 1970s, this building was used for making adult films. As the area around the building became more and more dangerous, it was transformed into individual rehearsal studios. How awesome is that? This building has even been featured in movies like Double Indemnity, Ruthless People, and Hollywood Shuffle. It was also a popular spot for TV productions. And get this, bands like Guns N Roses and White Zombie used it as a rehearsal studio too! Unfortunately, the building suffered major damage during the 1994 Northridge earthquake and was left empty for a while. But don’t worry, it has since been renovated and is back in action. How cool is that? (Source: Wikipedia)
