Oh my gosh, you won’t believe the awesome guitars that Dimkich has! His main guitar is a super cool refurbished 1958 Gibson Les Paul Junior. It’s had a bunch of repairs on the headstock, but that just adds to its character. He actually found it in Canada on their version of Craigslist. So, he took it to his friend Baker, who knows way more about guitars than he does, to check it out. But get this, the shop selling it didn’t have good lighting, so they had to go to the adult bookstore next door to take it apart and see what was going on. Turns out, it had even more repairs than they thought! But that’s okay because it’s still an amazing “players guitar” that he can take on the road with him. He uses this guitar almost all the time, like 99% of the time!
But wait, there’s more! Dimkich also has a late 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior with a Seymour Duncan antiquity pickup and Grover patent pending tuners. How cool is that? And his third guitar is a 30th anniversary 1982 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop with Grover patent pending tuners. He actually bought this one for only $400, and it even has his name written on the headstock in Sharpie because a tech couldn’t tell it apart from the others. Talk about a unique guitar!
Now let’s talk about his amps. Dimkich rocks a Mesa Boogie Mark II Combo and a Marshall JMP 100 Head. These babies cost him $350, but they are totally worth it. He runs them together with a 60’s cabinet using a LEHLE AB Switcher. And you know what? He only needs one pedal, a Boss TU-2 Tuner. That’s all he needs to make his guitar sound amazing.
