After their epic San Diego show on the Stranger than Fiction Tour in 1994, the band found themselves in a playful and excited mood. As they appeared on Letterman’s stage, he surprised them by bringing some senior citizens up to watch their performance. When Letterman mentioned that the next guests were Bad Religion, one old man hilariously replied, “Me and my wife are very religious!” The band kicked off their set with the song “Infected,” and during the chorus, Greg belted out the lyrics “no-one, someone, anyone, Dave.” To everyone’s surprise, Jay chimed in with the “Dave” part. Meanwhile, Bobby showcased his drumming skills by twirling the drumstick between his fingers, prompting Dave to exclaim, “Look what the drummer can do!”
