Bobby’s grandparents were from Mexico, but he doesn’t really know much Spanish. Greg knows a little bit of German and Spanish. Their tour manager Jens is German and he taught Greg some Spanish. Greg also studied Spanish for two years in the 80s, so he can say a lot of things in Spanish when they perform in Spain. He likes to ask the audience what they call certain words in their language, like “water.” He once joked, “some people just aren’t good with languages – and I’m one of them” (but he’s just being modest). According to Hetson, Greg speaks more Spanish than German. Brian is pretty good at speaking French, according to Hetson. Their former sound engineer Ronnie Kimball knows a little bit of four different languages. Hetson feels guilty that he doesn’t speak any foreign languages. When he’s playing outside the US, he tells this joke to their fans: “what do you call a person who speaks many languages? Multilingual. What about someone who speaks two? Bilingual. And someone who only speaks one? American.”

I’ve been lurking on that site for over 20 years and if you’re into Bad Religion as much as I am, I’m sure you’re familiar. If you are not, go there right now and never come back to this site again. You should, and I totally understand.
