Hey there! Let me tell you all about KROQ-FM, the awesome radio station based in Los Angeles, CA. They play Modern Rock and are owned by CBS Radio. These guys have been super supportive of Bad Religion throughout their career.
You won’t believe how Bad Religion got their big break! It all started when Greg Hetson brought their original demo tape to Rodney Bingenheimer’s show “Rodney on the ROQ.” The tape got played on air, giving the band their first chance to be heard by the Greater Los Angeles Area. Talk about a lucky break!
KROQ has been a huge supporter of Bad Religion, premiering many of their new songs over the years. Some of their hits that got their first airplay on KROQ include “Infected,” “21st Century (Digital Boy),” “A Walk,” “Sorrow,” “Los Angeles Is Burning,” “Heroes & Martyrs,” “The Devil In Stitches,” and “My Sanity.” These guys know good music when they hear it!
But that’s not all! Bad Religion has also rocked the stage at KROQ’s annual Christmas concert, KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas. They’ve played this epic event six times, in 1993, 1994, 2001, 2007, 2010, and 2018. And guess what? Their 1993 set was so amazing that it was turned into a bootleg called “Christmas Show.” Now that’s some serious rockstar status!
And let’s not forget about KROQ’s Weenie Roast, their annual Summer concert. Bad Religion has graced this stage five times, in 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2011. These guys sure know how to bring the heat!
