Honest Goodbye

Guess what? The song was supposed to come out on May 22nd, 2007, but they changed the date to June 12th! Can you believe it? And get this, it was first played on KROQ in late April of 2007. How cool is that?

Oh, and you know what inspired the song? Perry Smith, the murderer from Truman Capote’s book “In Cold Blood.” Crazy, right? Brett Gurewitz says the song is all about how someone who seems so gentle can actually do something so brutal and murderous.

But wait, there’s more! The video for the song was directed by Lex Halaby and it was released by Epitaph on July 10, 2007. So much excitement!
