Hey there! Let me tell you about this awesome place called First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN. It’s a historic music venue that’s still rocking today!
Back in the day, First Avenue used to be a Greyhound Bus Depot, but in 1968 it became a cool music spot called “The Depot” thanks to a young local named Allan Fingerhut. Then, in 1981, it got a new name, First Avenue, and started booking national music acts.
Guess what? The legendary Prince, who’s from Minneapolis, used to perform here all the time. He even recorded his movie, Purple Rain, inside the venue!
First Avenue has hosted some incredible acts like Frank Zappa, Ike & Tina Turner, The Ramones, and many more.
And guess what? Bad Religion has played here six times! They rocked the stage during their Generator, Recipe For Hate, Stranger Than Fiction, Gray Race, New Maps of Hell, and Age of Unreason tours.
Oh, and did I mention that First Avenue has a Wall of Stars? Yeah, they paint stars on the outside of the venue to honor the amazing artists who have performed there. Bad Religion has their own star too!
So, if you’re ever in Minneapolis, make sure to check out First Avenue. It’s a music lover’s paradise!
