Graffin is like, “We’re so done with it. They think they’re so important, but they’ve never been nice to Bad Religion. We have so many fans in England and we really want to play there because those fans mean a lot to us. But the music industry there is so snobby, we can’t even get a gig. The promoters are all so arrogant, they only care about fashion. If you don’t fit their style, they won’t promote you.” And then Brian adds, “You know what? I actually like the idea of having a place that we hate. I mean, punk isn’t really a big part of my everyday life anymore. And people think we’re supposed to follow the English music scene, but most of the bands I like are actually Irish or Scottish.” Graffin chimes in, “We’ve played in Scotland and it was amazing. So we’re not attacking the entire British protectorate, just the ever-shrinking part of it. What do they even have left? Maybe just a gas station in Fiminy. They should change the name to New Spain. And you know what really annoys me? They always use eight or nine syllables when one would do. Like instead of saying ‘pass’, they say ‘overtaking’. Everything has to be more complicated than it needs to be. And don’t even get me started on their pronunciation of ‘schedule’ as ‘shh-edule’.” Graffin continues, “And they always have to say ‘innit’ at the end of every sentence to make sure you understood what they were saying. Like, can’t they just speak clearly?”
