Guess what? Danny Goldberg, the guy who used to manage Kurt Cobain, played a major role in BR moving to Atlantic Records! How cool is that? In 1993 and 1994, he was actually the president of Atlantic. Jay said that they had been approached by a bunch of other labels, but they didn’t really like their attitude. They felt like those labels were just putting on a fake front to talk to them. But when they met with Danny, it was a whole different story. He actually said, “I don’t want to embarrass you guys.” Can you believe that? Someone who doesn’t even have to care about them said that! Because of Danny’s enthusiasm, the band decided to give Atlantic a shot. And you know what? Danny thinks they can go really far. He compared them to Midnight Oil, a band with platinum albums. He said they have such high quality and talent that they can transcend their genre. They’re a sophisticated rock band with integrity and commitment. And musically, they’re so good that there’s no limit to what they can accomplish. How awesome is that?
