Biography: If you want to read the full biography, head over to Brett’s profile. When Brett finishes a long recording session, he likes to cleanse his palate by writing some songs. He also does this after writing long and complicated songs. This doesn’t mean that those songs don’t make the cut, it’s just something he enjoys doing.
Music preferences & inspiration: Brett finds inspiration to write songs from various everyday life experiences, even ones as playful as having his ass tickled with a feather. In 1988, he expressed his love for The Ramones and Elvis Costello, just like the rest of Bad Religion. In 1991, his top three favorite lyricists were Darby Crash, Elvis Costello, and Bob Dylan. In 1993, he declared The Beatles as his favorite band. After the release of the first Daredevils single in 1997, Brett mentioned that his two biggest influences were The Beatles and Nick Lowe. He also considers Television’s album “Marquee Moon” (1977) as one of the greatest albums ever.
Favorite Bad Religion songs: In 1996, Brett revealed that his favorite Bad Religion songs were probably “Generator,” “Anesthesia,” and “Infected.” By late November 1996, “All Good Soldiers” had become one of his favorite songs.
