Oh my gosh, you won’t believe it! They got to play at this amazing festival in Rio de Janeiro with the Sex Pistols, Marky Ramone and the Intruders, Cypress Hill, and even a Brazilian punk band called Little Quail and the Mad Birds! It was such a blast! And guess what? The last show of their Gray Race Tour was in Curitiba on 12.1.1996, with Resist Control as the support band. But wait, there’s more! On 30.11.1996, they played at the Close-Up Festival in Sao Paulo, and guess who else was there? The Sex Pistols again! How cool is that?
Okay, so here’s the thing. In 1999, they were supposed to play three dates in South America, on November 19, 20, and 21. But unfortunately, they only ended up playing on 11.20.99. Bummer, right? But don’t worry, Greg himself explained and apologized for it. He said that they were only able to play one show in South America this time, which was in Sao Paulo. Apparently, the Offspring didn’t want them to be part of their shows in Curitiba or Rio, and hey, it’s their show, so they get to decide. But the good news is that the show in Sao Paulo was a festival, and the promoter thought it would be awesome to have Bad Religion on the bill. So, even though it’s a shame that they couldn’t play in Rio and Curitiba, they’re still looking forward to rocking out in Sao Paulo. And don’t worry, they promised to come back next year for their fans in Rio and Curitiba. How awesome is that? Sincerely, Greg Graffin.

I’ve been lurking on that site for over 20 years and if you’re into Bad Religion as much as I am, I’m sure you’re familiar. If you are not, go there right now and never come back to this site again. You should, and I totally understand.
