OMG, you won’t believe what Brett said about the meaning of the song “Bad Religion”! He basically thinks that most religious people are hypocrites and that religions haven’t really done much good for mankind. Can you believe it?
And get this, there are actually three different versions of the song! It was first released on the EP “Bad Religion” in 1981, then on the compilation album “Public Service Comp” in the same year. It was also included in the album “80-85” in 1991, and finally remastered for the album “How Could Hell Be Any Worse?” in 2004.
But here’s the juicy part: Greg, one of the band members, wasn’t too happy with how the three part harmonies were done in the third version. Can you imagine?
If you don’t believe me, check out the references: an interview with Brett by Roger Vulture in 1996, and an article in The Big Takeover #29 in 1990. It’s all there, my friend!
